The Original Blog
The site originally started as my personal blog way back in 2001 and here is where you can find it. Posts go back 10 years. It’s always a work in progress and one day I will get around to completely reorganizing it. There are plenty of posts on Social Media too.
SUMMER IS HERE! In this issue of the newsletter, I will drop a few ideas which I have used in the past that you may be able to use to generate awareness of your business during the summer. This issue is geared towards the business that traditionally goes quiet during the Summer. For those Businesses that do most of their business over the summer, these ideas will also work during your off-season.this text. POP-UPS! The phrase “location, [...]
By all counts, email should already be dead. I mean, really: Everyone hates it. Few can master it. And more companies than I can count have set out to assassinate it. Just to name a few: Chatbots were supposed to kill email. So was Facebook Messenger. Project management software Asana led the email-slaying circuit for a while, and more recently, thousands of words have been written about Slack’s sure-thing mission to obliterate our inboxes.
What happens when the influencers aren't real people? Is our popular culture being hacked?
You don't have to even visit the location of a business to write a review and that's where the Yelp business model fails. Unlike OpenTable, where you can only leave a review on a restaurant AFTER the restaurant checks you in, Yelp has no such functionality.
I was able to watch quite a bit of Facebook CEO's Mark Zuckerberg's testimony in front of the Senate this past week. After years of following facebook issues, I learned nothing new. This is a company that is a monopoly and needs to be regulated along with Google, Amazon and may
You might not even notice the redesign–and that’s the whole point. Source: American Express Gets Its First New Logo In Over 40 Years American Express has a new logo, but it probably slipped under your radar. It’s part of a complete brand redesign led by Pentagram partner Abbott Miller. The credit card company has swapped out its blue box with a gradient for. . .a blue box without a gradient. From Old to New! The New AMEX LOGO! [...]
Former Cambridge Analytica employee Christopher Wylie (Image via YouTube). He also claimed that his former employer is a dangerous place to work: "People do get hurt at this firm." Source: Cambridge Analytica Whistleblower: Facebook Able to Listen to You at Home and Work Wylie told the committee that he was informed by Cambridge Analytica shortly after he began his position that Dan Muresan, his predecessor, had been poisoned and died in Kenya after a political deal went wrong. Emphasizing [...]
ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX ---- Google, Facebook, Youtube, Twitter. The filters are in place. The big story this week is the social media censorship which is ramping up against mostly conservative accounts on social media. There is a clear war going on within the left-leaning media and independent conservative content creators. Bloggers, Vloggers, content publishers, independent journalists, all with mostly conservative views are being systematically banned from the Socials. "Youtube Moves Towards Banning Conservative Vlogger" - Breitbart China presses global censorship [...]
Day 56 of 2018. It's how I start every journal entry of every day. If you don't have a journal try Day One. Or a regular old book will do. A journal is a constant reminder of how fast the days are going and that I need to make some progress towards my goals everyday because the days are numbered and we don't know how many we have left. The days are now getting longer here and Spring has actually [...]
Go Confidently in the Direction of Your Dreams and live the life you have imagined. - Thoreau Just finished a marathon work week of working 7 days straight. I was all over the place! Had to document this for my records because my new systems have helped me be more productive, allowed me to make sure I got the right amount of rest, nutrition, time to reflect and playtime, all within my budget. But I would have never known [...]
This year I made a conscious decision to implement a system to tie all my systems together. I needed a system that would help me set goals and keep me focused on them, which is where my new planner steps in... The Full Focus PlannerThis is not an app but a physical planner where you can keep your priorities in clear view and achieve what matters every day, designed for high achievers. The Tutorial Videos are here and they cover: [...]
Do You Get Enough Sleep? I Hope So. If Not Keep Reading... I am in the process of working on a system of getting the optimum amount of sleep. It starts with setting up the iPhone and letting it know when I would like to get up every morning which is different than just setting an alarm. When you go into the clock app on the iPhone you go to the tab labeled "BEDTIME". Set this for 8 hours before you [...]
The most important tool you use every day, possibly first thing in the morning and the last thing at night, is your calendar. Some people neglect it, some people overdo it (I may be in the latter) but the calendar was a system that I wanted to upgrade this year. For years I used the standard calendar app that comes with your Mac and iPhone, I then stepped up to a paid calendar like Fantastical, which worked out just fine [...]
Here is another part of my series regarding systems. This one is for monitoring the poison we inadvertently put into our bodies. I don't plan on being a foodie or health nut blogger, just introduce a system you can use to monitor the food you eat. It's what I am using to reach my goal of finding more energy this year. Ever wonder what the food you are eating is doing to your body? Big Mac, Large Fries, and a [...]
This posting is the first of 5 or so that I have scheduled for the week. For future reference, you will find them under the tag "Systems". These are systems I use and I am happy with them. I really do wonder what system or software everyone else is using to manage their finances, especially the rich guys who are commonly called the 1%. I'm sure they have accountants but what do they use? I really do wonder because I [...]
Over 300 Companies! Is yours on the list? 312 companies announce tax reform bonuses, raises, or 401(k) hikes. “Every two weeks from February to November Americans will be reminded that one party cut their taxes and raised their pay.
