Spring Clean Your Computer by Eliminating Duplicate Files

I have been testing out a few new programs lately in my never-ending quest to keep my laptop running as smooth as possible. For future reference, a MAC needs at least 15% of it’s hard drive free in order to operate efficiently. That being said, If you notice your MAC running slow you may be running out of space on the hard drive. Here’s one way to free up space:

Start by eliminating duplicate files. This is a new program I am using. It is from a well-respected developer in the MAC Community and it’s a program I have been looking for, for a long time. The program is called Gemini: The Duplicate Finder and it’s made by MACPAW.

By far the easiest and slickest program I have found to remove duplicate files from your hard drive. It’s incredibly easy to use and a nice addition to my toolbox. I keep my hard drive pretty organized but Gemini did find over 4GB’s of duplicates on the first try. It will even clean out your iTunes file of duplicates. iTunes is a program that makes duplicates easy to find but not so easy to clean up. Gemini will handle iTunes with ease.
