These night launches were always so spectacular. Sadly this was the last one. There are four more shuttle launches till the fleet is retired. You can get this video and so much more from the NASA YouTube Channel.

I am still a little sad that the Shuttle fleet will soon be retired. The next generation of kids will have capsules to look forward to just like in the 60’s and 70’s. I always felt the Shuttle’s were a step up from the space capsules even though they never did get out of low Earth orbit and land a man on another planet. NASA’s plans to bring back the capsules seems to be a step back. Will the next generation of kids ever understand the thrill of space exploration if we don’t have a spaceship? At least we can show future generations since they are posted on YouTube.
