Eric Giler wants to untangle our wired lives with cable-free electric power. Here, he covers what this sci-fi tech offers, and demos MIT’s breakthrough version, WiTricity — a near-to-market invention that may soon recharge your cell phone, car, pacemaker.
Wireless electricity could be a reality within a year and five years from now it will probably be completely normal. Companies like Witricity and Powercast are currently developing this technology to be sold on a commercial scale.
Neither company trades publicly on the NYSE but if they ever do, this would be a great buy. I’m really looking forward to the day I will never have to worry about my iPhone having enough power to get thru the day.
