Just to be clear I am not a Millennial and I am not trying to knock an entire generation but the article is written by a Millennial and I think Millennials are starting to wake up…
Millennials are the worst. I should know — I am one. At 26, I’m stuck in the middle of the world’s most maligned, mocked and discussed age group. And I hate it. Imagine being forever lumped into a smug pack of narcissists who don’t just ignore the past, but openly abhor anyone and everything that came before them.

The NYPost. It used to be one of my favorite newspapers back in the day when I had to have a physical copy of the paper at my desk. Just having the paper meant that people stopped by and talked about the very uniquely trashy stories of the day. It was much better than sharing whatever story you found interesting on your Facebook wall. Back then if people saw you with the NYPost they would start to gravitate towards you to actually talk about articles they found interesting.
Surprisingly I found this article on the NYPost highlighted by the Drudge Report and despite the NYPost being known for being a trashy paper, this was a good read.
I Loved this Quote:
“Stop being so insular. Many young people were shocked when Brexit won out in the UK, or when Donald Trump became the presumptive GOP presidential nominee. That’s because you’ve curated your social media accounts — where most of your interaction takes place — to be in total agreement with your opinions. But most of the world doesn’t think the way you do, which doesn’t make them bad, just different. Try empathy on for size. Befriend some dissenters. Grab a beer with them, listen to what they have to say. For once, don’t yell at them.”
I also find it ironic that the NYPost is powered by WordPress, the largest open source blogging platform on the planet yet I could not leave a comment. I love leaving comments and engaging in discussion which you cannot truly do in the closed social media platforms of today.
So go ahead and read the entire article. I think there may be something for everyone to learn from this one.
