Medium and Twitter founder: ‘We put junk food in front of them and they eat it’

Ev Williams (Co-Founder of Twitter and Founder of Medium) is not a fan of the increasingly homogenised media he currently sees, with its emphasis on feeding the great, gaping maw of platforms like Twitter and Facebook too often producing what he describes as tantamount to junk food.

My last few posts have been reposts of article I have found informative and I do it by simply using the “Press This” button that WordPress offers.

This latest share is interesting in that even one of the founders of twitter admits that twitter has turned into media junk food for the masses. Unless you know how to sift through all the junk for some real substance you’re going to get sick of the information you are digesting.

I do spend some time on the Medium platform. I need to write something though as it’s more of a space for serious writers. Many of the writers/users are posting really good material that wouldn’t get seen much on other platforms. Read the original article on the Guardian and then check out Medium.
