I have 2 Secure Email Accounts to Give Away

Goodbye Gmail! At least for the important stuff.

For those of you who follow the blog (Thank you!) you know I had mentioned I had been beta testing the Startmail Encypted Email service since April. They finally came out of Beta and offered the email address to me for $60 a year. I found that I was using the email quite a bit for secure communication so I kept it. Here is the blog posting from April reviewing the Startmail service – https://daviddaniels.com/2014/04/startmail-a-secure-alternative-to-gmail/. I would recommend it.

This means that Gmail will be relegated to being an account I use for collecting spam or using for non-financial, everyday communication email needs. Certainly no longer using it for work or personal communications.

Ask And You May Receive…

Startmail gave me two companion accounts to give away with the subscription. Rather than waste them by just forwarding the links to two random people who may or may not use them, I figured I would post them to the blog. But you must leave a comment, especially on why you feel you must have an encrypted email address but just never got around to getting one. Only 2 worthy people will get them.

A Comment May get you a free one-year StartMail private email Companion Account! I have 2 to give away! 🙂

Emails stored on external servers are not secure. Binfer on the other hand bypasses cloud storage servers making it very safe to send secure email. http://www.binfer.com.

How can emails stored on some third party servers be secure? Binfer bypasses email storage servers. This is the best way to send secure email. http://www.binfer.com.

Not sure if this is a plug or not since I got 2 comments on the service with a few minutes of each other but I will give it a good hard look. Thanks.

Hi, I was searching the internet for reviews of Startmail in general and regarding the size of the inbox in particular, but wasn#T successful so far….
If there is still a companion account code available, I could see for myself.
    regards, Roland

Sorry for the delay. Just sent it! Hope it comes in good use.

        Thanks, that worked out fine.
2G for companion accounts, 10G for paid ones and shorter eMail addresses, SMTP…
I’ll give it a try and see for myself.

I have been using ixquick and startpage for years! As big brother closes in I’m happy that the only way any government can get my emails (deleted emails btw are permanently deleted from the server) is by a formal legal avenue through the Dutch government! YES it costs but who is going to give “free” email if they cannot sell your data! IMHO go w Startmail and get the alias too! So for US$60 2 accounts and if you really want to keep it: forward it! Also the encryption option is awesome! The receiver MUST know the answer to your secret question. Hey I hardly ever comment on blogs yet if it gets people away from Google who are EVIL personified: then I’ve done some good! G
