Again I agree with Arianna. As a huge Obama supporter there has been entirely too much help for the two big to fail banks and not enough for main street. Does the President read the Huffington Post? He can get it on his blackberry, can’t he?

OK, I admit, unemployment was extended which helps but that will not solve the bigger problem and I don’t think Obama can solve the bigger problem. The economy is not creating any new jobs. The new jobs will come from small business but if small business cannot grow because of a lack of lending on the part of the big banks then no economic growth. No new jobs. It’s a catch 22. Somebody has to start lending!

Put our money in the hands of the smaller community banks, they will get the money into the hands of small business, small business will start generating jobs. Keep putting pressure on the President and hold him accountable. Why are we lending taxpayer dollars to these big banks with no return? Pressure on the top, pressure from the bottom, we the people can bring the change we are looking for. Not a President whose hands are tied behind his back.

Keep pushing! Get involved! Every little bit helps. I see a great decade ahead if everyone does their part as an informed citizen.

I opened my first account in years at a local bank. What an experience! I have not been in a bank for years as I do everything online. The service was great and I even told the bank about the Move Your Money Project. The big banks have always been years ahead with their online banking programs which is the reason why I have been using big banks all these years. I was pleasantly surprised to see that after all these years the small local banks have caught up with the big banks technologically. They have all the services that big banks do and my new banker even showed me how to access my accounts from my iPhone. So there are no more excuses for me not to use a small bank. I feel so much better knowing that my new bank will reinvest my money in my community and not in all these trading shenanigans. I also plan on going in and using the free Coinstar machine. In these times every cent counts. Great idea Arianna and Huffpost! We might just take back this country yet.

My favorite all time holiday movie… my biggest issue (right up there with healthcare reform)… combined to form a very powerful campaign against the big banks of this country. Check out the project at moveyourmoney.info. If you agree, simply move your money from the big banks to a smaller community bank. That’s it!
