Friday I attempted to watch President Obama and the live White House Stream over my laptop. I tried to stream it from the WhiteHouse.gov site but it was too slow for my liking. I then found the stream over facebook and they had a stream of comments from facebook users being displayed in real time on the right of the White House stream. Very interesting to get real time feedback of a speech.
The comments seemed to be split down the middle. Healthcare reform seems to be as controversial as Civil Rights. Yes we will be required to carry health-care coverage. Yes, this bill will lower health-care costs for everyone, make it more affordable for small businesses to cover their workers, will enable businesses of all sizes to reduce their health insurance expenses thereby freeing up more money for investing in hiring. More hiring means more people with increased purchasing power which leads to a healthy economy. This bill also brings down the deficit. This was all talked about during the facebook live stream.
Kudos to facebook for implementing this. You can already do this with twitter but facebook put the app together so I could see it all on one web-page. Nice job!
Today we’ll see if healthcare reform finally passes.
