Todays kids will never pick up a newspaper?

Newspapers

The Post has great captions with pics!

Being from Long Island I have always picked up Newsday but my favorite paper is the NYPost for it’s great pictures and headlines. As a Met fan, I enjoyed the posting from today.

As a kid I used to deliver newspapers after school. Now newspapers are delivered before 5am so it’s not a kids job anymore.

Today I just open up my laptop whenever I want, go to my Google Reader and start reading the latest news. The two newspapers that I normally read are both online and from what I can tell, the online versions and paper editions are identical.

Coupons, Sale Fliers and Classifieds can all be found online and are more up to date than the printed versions.

Unsold Newspapers

Unsold Newspapers at my local 7/11.

The NYPost and Daily News Sunday editions cost $1.25. Newsday costs $2.00 and the NYTimes comes in as a whopping $4.00.

Today’s kids will probably never pick up a newspaper so my theory is newspapers will be incredibly rare within 10 years.

What do you think?

I think that is an interesting point, it made me think a bit. Thanks for sparking my thinking cap. Sometimes I get so much in a rut that I just feel like a record.

LOL! I remember those days. People would get pissed if I delivered so late. So this is what you do when you give up coffee?
